Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has approved a $6.2 billion investment to develop the Umm Shaif Gas Cap offshore project, accelerating its push to expand gas production and exports. The project, developed with partners TotalEnergies, Eni and China National Petroleum Corp., is expected to unlock more than 600 million standard cubic feet of gas and associated liquids per day, or about 10% of the UAE’s current gas consumption, with first production targeted for 2030. ADNOC said the work includes major offshore infrastructure contracts and a drilling program for 14 wells, underscoring the project’s role in strengthening UAE energy supply and supporting future demand.
