Aramco studies standalone gas unit that could be valued above $100 billion
Monday, September 28, 2026
Aramco has reportedly hired investment bank Evercore to examine separating its gas operations into a standalone unit, a structure that could later accept outside capital or sell a minority stake through a listing. The idea is not to sell the business outright: carving it out would give investors a clearer view of a fast-growing part of the company while leaving Aramco in control. The potential valuation of more than $100 billion reflects the scale of planned investment in Jafurah and other gas projects, which Aramco expects to help lift gas production about 80% by 2030. But this is still an advisory exercise, not a transaction; the plans remain under discussion and may change.
