EU AI Act Enters Enforcement Phase for General-Purpose AI Model Providers

The EU AI Act has entered a new enforcement phase for general-purpose AI models, with EU authorities now able to enforce provider obligations that had been phased in since last year. Providers must maintain copyright-compliance policies, publish summaries of the content used to train their models, and meet broader transparency requirements, while the most capable models face additional testing, incident reporting, and cybersecurity duties.
