Microsoft will launch its Saudi Arabia East cloud region in Q4 2026
Microsoft has confirmed that its new Saudi Arabia East cloud region in the Eastern Province will become available for customers to run cloud and AI workloads in the fourth quarter of 2026, marking a major step in supporting the kingdom's Vision 2030 digital ambitions [1]. The facility will feature three independent availability zones with separate power, cooling, and networking infrastructure to ensure enterprise-grade reliability, security, and low-latency performance for government and industry organizations [1]. This launch will integrate Saudi Arabia into Microsoft's global Azure network of over 70 regions across 33 countries, enabling local data residency while providing access to secure cloud and AI services . Although construction of the three zones is complete, the region is not yet available for direct customer deployment in the Azure portal and remains pending regulatory sign-offs and commercial readiness before its Q4 2026 target .
