Saudi's Humain and Cohere partner to build sovereign Arabic-language AI models

Saudi Arabia's state-backed AI company Humain and Canadian firm Cohere have announced a strategic partnership to develop sovereign Arabic-language AI models and enterprise solutions, anchored by Humain designating at least 50 megawatts of dedicated AI compute capacity for Cohere's next-generation models. The collaboration, unveiled during Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's visit to the Kingdom, marks Cohere's first international compute expansion outside North America and aims to strengthen regional AI capabilities while enabling secure, production-ready AI adoption across Saudi economic sectors. The infrastructure is scheduled to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2027, with the partnership allowing capacity to scale over the following five years in response to growing demand for enterprise-grade AI tools.
