Anthropic turns Claude into a single workspace for chat and finished work

Anthropic is folding Cowork—the separate Claude area built for longer, multi-step jobs—into its main chat, so users no longer have to decide which product to open. From a conversation, Claude will choose the needed capabilities and can keep working on a task after the user leaves, while retaining the same context, connected tools, and skills. The company is also introducing beta Docs and Slides, letting paid users draft and edit a report or presentation alongside Claude, then export documents to Google Docs or Word and decks to PowerPoint or PDF. The change, initially rolling out to Pro and Max subscribers, is Anthropic’s attempt to make Claude less a place for answers and more a single workspace where an assignment becomes a shareable deliverable.
