Aramco selects contractors for five offshore field packages
Aramco has selected contractors for five offshore construction packages spanning its Abu Safah, Berri, Manifa, Marjan and Zuluf oil and gas fields. Together, the packages are estimated to be worth up to $2 billion and cover the essential work of designing, buying, building and installing offshore structures used to support production at sea. The selections take the program beyond bidding and identify the builders for a coordinated set of infrastructure projects, rather than one standalone field development. That matters because offshore oil and gas operations depend on large, specialized structures before production equipment can be installed or maintained—though the move does not, by itself, announce a new production target.
