Geely says its AI-powered system can charge compatible EVs from 10% to 70% in under five minutes

Geely has unveiled an EV charging system that it says can take compatible cars from 10% to 70% battery in four minutes and 30 seconds. The headline number depends on more than a powerful charger: it combines a new high-rate battery, a 2.25-megawatt charging station and software that forecasts battery heat about 30 seconds ahead, then adjusts the flow of electricity. That matters because heat is the trade-off in ultra-fast charging—too much can damage a battery and raise safety concerns. The result was reported from Geely tests of its Lynk & Co 10 and Zeekr 001 models, so the bigger question is how quickly the specialized cars and charging infrastructure can become widely available.
