QIA and JPMorgan set out a $20 billion investment partnership

Wednesday, September 23, 2026

Qatar Investment Authority and J.P. Morgan Asset Management have signed a memorandum of understanding for a $20 billion investment partnership, rather than a single bet on one company or sector. The largest piece, $15 billion, gives JPMorgan a mandate to build and manage tailored global stock portfolios around QIA’s long-term goals. The other $5 billion will be used to provide senior financing—loans that sit near the front of the repayment line—to established midsize US businesses in industrials, services, health care, and technology. The arrangement shows QIA pairing its patient capital with a large global manager’s stock-picking and private-credit infrastructure, while giving JPMorgan a sizable long-term institutional client across both public markets and private lending.
