Google launches Gemini 4 Argon for complex, multi-step work

Google has made Gemini 4 Argon globally available to businesses and developers through its paid tools, and to Pro and Ultra subscribers in the Gemini app. The company says it is better at keeping track of a long assignment—such as modifying a large codebase, analyzing documents and data, or finding software flaws—rather than merely answering one prompt at a time. That is the real bet: turning AI from a drafting assistant into software that can carry out more of a professional workflow. Google says Argon leads competing frontier models on several tests, but those performance claims will need to be tested in everyday use, especially where mistakes in code, finance, law, or security are costly.
