Nvidia Holds Early Talks With South Korea’s Rebellions on Deal, Investment or Acquisition

Saturday, August 22, 2026

Nvidia is in early talks with South Korean AI chip startup Rebellions about a possible deal that could include a collaboration, investment or acquisition, according to people familiar with the matter. The discussions, which reportedly followed a meeting in Santa Clara between Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Rebellions co-founder and CEO Park Sunghyun, are still preliminary and may not lead to any transaction. Rebellions, founded in 2020, designs energy-efficient AI chips and has become one of South Korea’s most prominent domestic challengers in the fast-growing market for AI semiconductors. Any tie-up would be notable because it could give Nvidia a foothold in a rising Korean chipmaker while reinforcing global interest in alternatives to dominant AI hardware suppliers.
