Relay shuts down as founder Jacob Bank rejoins Google Chrome as product VP

Relay, the AI workflow automation startup founded in 2021, is shutting down and will stop serving paying customers on September 14, while free users already lost access on August 15. Founder and CEO Jacob Bank, who previously spent more than six years at Google, is rejoining the company as vice president of product for Chrome, and some Relay staff are joining him there. The move highlights Google’s push to bring more AI features into Chrome, which Bank said is being treated as a major workspace for productivity and a place to work with AI agents.
