Saudi Arabia Appoints Mazen Al-Sudairi as Capital Market Authority Chairman
Sunday, August 16, 2026
Saudi Arabia has appointed Mazen Al-Sudairi as chairman of the Capital Market Authority, replacing Mohammed El-Kuwaiz after nearly nine years in the role. The move, ordered by King Salman, gives Al-Sudairi ministerial rank and puts him in charge of the kingdom’s top market regulator at a time when Saudi Arabia is trying to deepen its capital markets and attract more investment. Al-Sudairi previously worked as head of research at Al Rajhi Capital and later served as an adviser in the Saudi Cabinet’s general secretariat.
