Syria taps Saudi firm to digitize its fuel supply chain

Syria’s Energy Ministry has signed a strategic partnership with Kashan, a Saudi technology company, to build and run a national digital platform for petroleum products, under the supervision of Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry. The planned system would connect production, transport, storage, distribution, filling stations and the financial settlement of fuel sales. In practical terms, it is designed to give regulators and businesses a shared view of where products such as gasoline, diesel and liquefied gas are moving, rather than tracking each stage separately. That could improve planning and oversight in a vital market, but the parties have not disclosed the investment, ownership terms or a launch date.
