Anthropic says quarterly revenue reached $16.8 billion before IPO
Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI assistant, told prospective investors that third-quarter revenue reached $16.8 billion, roughly 45% to 50% higher than in the prior quarter. It also said it was profitable on an adjusted basis—a measure that can exclude certain costs—rather than reporting a standard net-profit figure. The disclosure gives investors a clearer view of whether a company built around costly AI computing can turn fast-growing demand into a sustainable business. That matters as Anthropic prepares for an IPO, where it will need to persuade public-market investors that its revenue growth can support the heavy spending needed to build and run advanced AI systems.
