Google puts a shared shopping cart in Search and Gemini

Google has begun rolling out Universal Cart in the U.S., giving shoppers one place to save products they find through Google Search or the Gemini app. Instead of keeping separate retailer tabs, screenshots, and wish lists, a person can add items from different stores and return to the same cart later. Google says the tool will also watch for price drops and restocked items, surface relevant promo codes and card rewards, and help move eligible purchases toward checkout. The bigger shift is that Google is trying to make its search and AI products useful not only for finding things to buy, but for managing the messy middle between browsing and paying.
