Apple strikes hiring and AI-audio licensing deal with Huxe
Apple has disclosed a deal that lets it recruit some of the team behind Huxe, a startup that made personalized, AI-generated audio briefings, while licensing its technology. Huxe’s app could turn a user’s interests, emails, calendar, or a question into a spoken, interactive program that listeners could interrupt to ask for more detail. This is not a conventional acquisition: the public filing describes job offers and a nonexclusive technology license, rather than Apple buying the company outright. Huxe had already shut down its service, and Apple has not said whether anyone has joined, what it will build, or where the technology might appear.
