Aramco plans dedicated gas division, Reuters reports

Saudi Aramco is planning to reorganize its business around a dedicated gas division, Reuters reported, citing two people familiar with the matter. The proposed unit would provide a clearer home for developing Saudi gas resources and building an international liquefied-natural-gas portfolio, rather than treating those activities as part of a broader oil operation. It could also make selected gas businesses easier to list or otherwise open to outside investors in the future, while Aramco retains control; the company declined to comment. The move fits a much larger expansion already under way: Aramco is targeting an 80% increase in sales-gas capacity by 2030 from 2021 levels, so gas is becoming a more distinct growth business inside the oil giant.
