Eric Wu’s NavigateAI brings AI coaching to construction sites

Wednesday, September 9, 2026

Eric Wu, the former Opendoor CEO, has raised $25 million for NavigateAI, a startup trying to make construction workers more productive rather than replace them. Its software uses a phone camera or Meta’s AI glasses to see a job as a worker sees it, then offer step-by-step guidance, surface relevant specifications, and flag quality problems before a crew leaves the site. That matters in an industry where skilled labor is scarce and much know-how still sits with experienced supervisors and tradespeople. Backers including Elad Gil, Khosla Ventures, and homebuilder Lennar are betting that putting practical expertise directly in the field can help less-experienced crews work to a higher standard.
