Impulse Space’s latest funding round reaches $808 million

Impulse Space has added $308 million to its Series D financing, bringing the round to $808 million. Founded by former SpaceX propulsion chief Tom Mueller, the company builds “space tugs”: spacecraft that take satellites and other cargo from a rocket’s initial drop-off orbit to the precise orbit or destination a customer needs. Impulse says the new capital will support product development and hiring as it expands work for commercial, civil, and government customers. The size of the round reflects a simple bet: getting payloads off Earth is only the first leg of a mission, and moving them reliably once they are in space could become an important layer of the space economy.
