Lenovo unveils its first Saudi-made laptop

Tuesday, September 1, 2026

Lenovo’s first Saudi-made laptop is a sign that its Riyadh factory has moved from plans to actual output. The computer, unveiled at LEAP 2026, was produced through Lenovo’s partnership with Alat, the PIF-owned industrial company, and is among the first products from the site. That does not mean Lenovo is already making its full catalog in the Kingdom: it expects large-scale production to begin later in 2026 for only a limited range of products. Still, the step matters because the factory is intended to feed Lenovo’s regional and global supply network, turning an investment in local tech manufacturing into a working operation.
