Meta creates an enterprise AI arm and hires MongoDB’s CEO

Meta has started Meta Enterprise Platform, a business unit meant to turn the AI tools it has built for consumers, advertisers and developers into products companies can use in their own operations. Its initial lineup will include Muse, Meta’s task-performing AI agent, alongside a business agent, programming tools and software connections for developers. To run it, Meta hired Chirantan “CJ” Desai away from database company MongoDB as chief enterprise platform officer, reporting directly to Mark Zuckerberg. The move gives Meta a dedicated route to sell its costly AI infrastructure and software to corporate customers; whether businesses trust and adopt the new tools is the real test.
