Microsoft sets November launch for Saudi Arabia East cloud region

Microsoft says customers will be able to use its Saudi Arabia East Azure cloud region in November, giving organizations an in-country place to run cloud systems and AI applications. The site in the Eastern Province has three availability zones—separate setups with their own power, cooling, and network connections—so critical services can be spread across them rather than depend on one location. That matters especially for government bodies and businesses whose data-location, response-time, or continuity requirements have made overseas cloud capacity less suitable. Alongside the infrastructure rollout, Microsoft says it will help 3 million people in the Kingdom gain AI skills by 2030, pairing local computing capacity with a larger pool of potential users.
