Riyadh Air Joins Etimad as Riyadh Airport Launches Silent Terminal 5 Pilot

Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector is pushing ahead with two passenger-facing changes: Riyadh Air has joined the government travel arrangement through Etimad, while King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has launched the first phase of its “Silent Airport” project at Terminal 5. The airport is cutting routine loudspeaker announcements and shifting flight updates to digital screens, its website, WhatsApp service, signage and the “Ask Me” team, with gate announcements kept for urgent or necessary information. The move is meant to reduce noise and make travel more comfortable while reflecting a broader shift toward digital passenger flow management.
