Saudi digital authority and STV set a route for AI startups into government
Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority has signed a memorandum with STV, a regional venture-capital firm, to help AI and emerging-tech startups turn government needs into usable products. The plan is to connect founders with specific operational challenges inside public agencies, let them test solutions in a controlled government innovation environment, and help successful pilots reach wider use. STV says it aims to invest up to 500 million riyals in promising companies emerging from the authority’s innovation programs, although the agreement is a framework rather than a guarantee of funding or government contracts. Its value is the combination of capital, a place to test, and a potential first customer—often more useful to a young company than money alone.
