Saudi fintech Barq agrees to buy Beyon Money

Barq Group, the Saudi parent of the Barq financial-services app, has signed a binding agreement to buy Beyon Money from Bahrain’s Beyon. Beyon Money is more than a payment wallet: its businesses in Bahrain and the UAE include cards, remittances and investment services, giving Barq regulated operations to build on beyond its home market. Rather than making a clean exit, Beyon will receive a stake in Barq, tying part of its return to the combined platform’s future growth. The deal still needs regulatory approvals and other closing steps, but customers are expected to keep using their accounts and services as usual during the transition.
