Saudi ministry says AI improved the quality of 70% of consumer complaints

Saudi Arabia’s Commerce Ministry says an AI-powered smart assistant improved the quality of 70% of consumer complaints in the third quarter, helping move them through the system faster. The claim matters less as evidence that AI has settled disputes and more as a sign of where it is being put to work: at the front of a high-volume complaints process, where clearer, better-directed reports can remove administrative delays. The ministry says it processed more than 210,000 commercial complaints during the quarter, led by e-commerce cases and disputes over return and exchange policies, with an average handling time of 36 hours. The bulletin does not explain how it measured quality, so the result is an operational metric rather than a measure of whether consumers ultimately won their cases.
