Saudi oil output rebounds to 8.37 million barrels a day in September
Saudi Arabia told OPEC that it pumped 8.372 million barrels of crude a day in September, up 2.134 million from August. The jump followed an unusually sharp August slump—its lowest reported level in more than three decades—as disruption to shipping routes constrained the kingdom’s ability to move oil. Saudi Arabia was therefore the main reason output across OPEC+—the wider producer alliance of OPEC members and partners including Russia—rose by about 900,000 barrels a day to 39.07 million. The figures suggest that more Saudi supply was reaching the market again, but output remained below levels before the recent regional disruption, making this a rebound rather than a full return to normal.
