Tanmiya Capital closes a $130 million fund for Egyptian growth companies
Egyptian private-equity firm Tanmiya Capital Ventures has completed fundraising for its second fund at $130 million, surpassing its $120 million target. The final close, meaning the fund has finished raising money, brings Egypt’s small-business agency MSMEDA into a backer group that includes the European Investment Bank, IFC, EBRD and the Egyptian-American Enterprise Fund; the EIB committed $37.5 million. The fund will provide equity financing and management support to established Egyptian companies looking to expand, rather than backing early-stage startups, in areas such as healthcare, fintech, consumer goods and logistics. That matters because longer-term equity capital remains hard for many Egyptian small and midsize businesses to access.
