Temasek picks Riyadh and Abu Dhabi for its first Middle East hubs

Thursday, October 1, 2026

Singapore’s Temasek plans to open its first Middle East offices in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. The investor is not simply adding local deal teams: it wants the offices to act as working bases where some of the companies it owns can also establish a presence, helping them build partnerships and expand in the region. That makes the move a broader commercial push, combining Temasek’s own investments with market access for its portfolio companies. Temasek, whose portfolio was worth about US$401 billion in March, also says it will pursue opportunities with institutions in Qatar and elsewhere in the Middle East, while using the new hubs to reach parts of Central Asia and Africa.
