Uber gives ChatGPT Work to all 30,000 employees
Uber is expanding ChatGPT Work from a 1,000-person pilot to its entire workforce of roughly 30,000 people. The OpenAI tool is meant to do more than answer questions: it can help staff work through multistep office tasks, such as analyzing operating data, adapting training materials for local markets, and building dashboards. The trial reached teams in finance, operations, and product, and Uber says about 80% of its early users were non-engineers—an indication that the company sees AI as a tool for everyday business work, not just software development. Still, Uber has not prescribed a single use case or disclosed the cost; it plans to watch which workflows employees create and whether they actually work better.
