US Court Pause Delays Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery Deal, Raising Fee Risk
Sunday, July 26, 2026
A U.S. court pause has delayed Paramount’s proposed takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery, raising the risk of costly delay fees for investors linked to the deal, including Gulf-backed interests. The merger, valued at about $110 billion, has already faced antitrust scrutiny in the United States and opposition from state attorneys general, while regulators in other countries have also signaled concern. Under the deal terms reported by local media, Paramount could owe about $7 million a day in delay-related charges if the transaction is not completed by the agreed deadline, adding pressure to close the agreement or renegotiate its terms.
