Abu Dhabi Deploys Microsoft 365 Copilot to 35,000 Government Employees

Abu Dhabi has deployed Microsoft 365 Copilot to 35,000 government employees across 27 entities, marking one of the public sector's largest generative AI rollouts as the emirate advances its goal to become the world's first AI-native government by 2027. The initiative, part of the Frontier Employee Programme, adds 26,000 new users to an existing base of 9,000, standardizing the AI tool as the official productivity platform for daily operations in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. All licenses include Microsoft's Advanced Data Residency capabilities with in-country data processing hosted in UAE cloud centers to ensure security and compliance. The deployment is expected to accelerate decision-making and improve public service responsiveness by enabling employees to summarize documents, analyze data, and draft communications more efficiently.
