Anthropic’s tech hires are becoming less junior—and meetings are taking more time
Anthropic says its AI-heavy workplace is becoming less entry-level: junior staff’s share of technical teams fell from 21% in early 2025 to 14%, while junior employees made up 9% of recent technical hires, down from 27%. The company links the shift to an explosion in work done by Claude agents, which it says logged six times as many interactive hours as employees by August. That has not simply removed human work; Anthropic reports meeting time per employee rose 20% as people review machine output, make decisions, and coordinate work across agents. Anthropic is unusually built around its own AI, so this is not a forecast for every employer, but it suggests that judgment and oversight may become more valuable as AI takes on more execution.
