TrustedRouter raises $6 million to make AI model switching safer

TrustedRouter has raised a $6 million seed round led by Sierra Ventures for software that lets businesses use and switch among AI models through one connection, rather than building separate integrations for each provider. That flexibility matters when teams are weighing a model’s quality, price, and availability—and trying not to become dependent on one AI company. The startup says it can add end-to-end encryption and independently verifiable protected processing for some open-weight models, designed so neither TrustedRouter nor the data center running a model can read customer prompts or outputs. The financing is a bet that model routing will become a valuable control layer in enterprise AI, with privacy becoming a key reason to choose one router over another.
