China Adds 14 EU Firms to Export-Control List in Retaliation for Russia Sanctions

China has added 14 European Union entities to its export-control list and barred exports of dual-use goods to them, in a direct response to the EU’s latest Russia-related sanctions that also targeted 14 Chinese and Hong Kong firms. The move escalates a broader tit-for-tat dispute over China’s ties to Russia’s war effort and the flow of sensitive goods such as components that can be used for both civilian and military purposes. Among the affected European companies are Germany’s Rheinmetall, Czech truck maker Tatra Trucks and French drone maker Cavok UAS.
