Nvidia and South Korea’s SK Group have unveiled a more than $500 billion initiative to expand AI infrastructure and next-generation memory supply, including a long-term partnership with SK Hynix to develop high-bandwidth memory for Nvidia’s AI systems. SK Telecom plans to build a 2-gigawatt AI data center in Korea using Nvidia’s Vera Rubin chips and SK Hynix’s HBM4 memory, with the first facility expected in 2027. The companies said the effort is meant to support sovereign, physical and agentic AI services for Korean businesses and industries, while also deepening collaboration on future AI factory designs and data center operations.
