Google replaces Charge 6 with $180 Fitbit Edge

Google has introduced the $180 Fitbit Edge to replace the Charge 6, filling the space between the screenless Fitbit Air and the full Pixel Watch smartwatch. The Edge keeps the slim, lower-distraction idea of a fitness band but adds a large display, built-in GPS, map directions, notifications, and music controls—enough for quick checks during a workout without turning it into a wrist computer. Google says its battery can last up to seven days, and it supports the paid Health Coach service, which uses health and fitness data to tailor workout plans. The bet is that many people want more than a silent tracker but less than a smartwatch.
