Meta turns its AI assistant into a bag charm

Meta has introduced Muse Charm, a palm-sized device that puts its Muse AI assistant on a keychain, in a pocket, or clipped to a bag. Rather than being another screen for apps, it is meant to be a quick physical doorway to Muse, Meta’s personal agent that can handle tasks and help organize plans; users can interact with it by voice, touch, and camera. Its tiny display and animated character invite comparisons with the 1990s Tamagotchi, but the more current reference is the bag charm: a small, visible accessory chosen as much for personality as utility. That design choice matters because Meta is testing whether AI assistants become more useful when they feel less like software to open and more like an object people keep close.
