Musk pledges a SpaceX share for every US child
Elon Musk says he plans to give one SpaceX share from his own holdings to every child in the United States next year, an unusually direct attempt to turn children into owners of a major technology company. Based on roughly 72 million children and a recent share price near $146, the pledge would be worth about $10.5 billion today, though both the share price and final cost could change before any distribution. The promise followed Musk’s argument that companies should share equity directly with the public, after AI company Anthropic announced a public-benefit fund supported by its shares. But this remains a pledge, not a program: Musk has not said who qualifies, how accounts would be set up and managed for minors, or when shares would actually arrive.
