Saudi rail carried 40.9 million passengers in Q3
Saudi Arabia’s trains carried more than 40.9 million passenger trips in July through September, while moving 3.9 million tonnes of minerals and other goods, the Transport General Authority said. Most riders were not on intercity routes: urban systems accounted for 38.3 million trips, led by Riyadh Metro’s 30.4 million. The remaining 2.5 million used rail links between cities, with the Haramain high-speed line carrying more than 1.9 million of them. The regulator said passenger use was higher than a year earlier; the breakdown shows that rail’s biggest role is now everyday urban travel, alongside freight for industry and supply chains.
