NoorNation raises $1.05 million to take solar irrigation further

Egyptian climate-tech startup NoorNation has raised $1.05 million in seed funding from agribusiness group Linah Farms, climate investor Catalyst Fund, and Saudi firm KBW Ventures. NoorNation builds stand-alone solar energy and water systems for farms, rural communities, and other customers that cannot reliably depend on conventional utility networks. The telling part of the round is Linah Farms’ role: after using NoorNation’s solar systems in its own operations, it has moved from customer to shareholder. The money arrives as NoorNation develops pay-per-use solar irrigation, a model intended to help farmers replace diesel-powered water pumps without having to buy the equipment upfront.
