Nvidia CEO sees chip sales roughly doubling next year
Friday, September 18, 2026
Jensen Huang said Nvidia expects to sell roughly twice as many chips in 2027 as it does this year, betting that companies’ use of artificial intelligence will keep expanding. A major part of that bet is Vera Rubin, Nvidia’s next-generation AI computing platform, designed for the heavy work of building and running AI models. The forecast is about the number of chips sold, not a promise that revenue will double, but it signals that Nvidia expects demand to carry well beyond today’s AI hardware cycle. It also sets a demanding test for customers’ spending plans and Nvidia’s ability to deliver its new platform at scale.
