PIF weighs putting EA and Savvy Games under one roof

Friday, September 11, 2026

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund is considering a merger of Electronic Arts and Savvy Games, Bloomberg reported, though no decision has been made. The idea follows the August completion of EA’s $55 billion take-private deal, led by PIF alongside Silver Lake and Affinity Partners. It would place EA’s blockbuster sports and console franchises, such as EA Sports FC and Madden, beside Savvy’s mobile-game businesses, including Scopely’s Monopoly Go, in a single group. The value would be less about buying a new asset than organizing businesses already tied to PIF, potentially coordinating game development, publishing, and acquisitions across consoles, PCs, mobile, and esports.
