White & Case backs former Riyadh office head’s legal AI startup

White & Case has made a strategic investment in Clauze.AI, a new Saudi legal-tech platform started by Waad Al-Quraini, who is leaving after more than a decade at the firm and three years leading its Riyadh office. Rather than a general chatbot for lawyers, it is designed to help corporate legal teams organize their own legal records and use them to review contracts, track obligations and spot risks. That regional focus is the point: Clauze.AI works in Arabic and English and offers Saudi data residency and an on-premises option, which could matter to organizations that cannot readily send sensitive legal material abroad. The investment turns a senior lawyer’s local experience into a bet by her former firm that legal AI in Saudi Arabia must accommodate local language, rules and data-control needs.
