MIS commits $1.2 billion to lift Saudi data-center capacity to 192 MW
Wednesday, September 2, 2026
Saudi IT and data-center operator Al Moammar Information Systems, or MIS, says it will invest $1.2 billion to expand its domestic data-center footprint, taking its total operating capacity to 192 megawatts. In this industry, megawatts are a practical measure of scale: they indicate how much power can be supplied to servers, cooling systems, and other equipment, and therefore how much computing customers can use. The announcement signals a large build-out for growing cloud-computing and AI demand in the Kingdom. It is separate from MIS’s recently announced 250-megawatt AI data-center build with Humain, so the two capacity figures should not be confused or added together.
