Nokia brings AI network software R&D to Riyadh

Nokia has opened its first Saudi research-and-development center in Riyadh, aimed at building software that uses AI to run telecom networks with less manual intervention. The practical idea is not to replace the network itself, but to give operators software that can adjust settings, spot and address faults, balance performance, and curb energy use as demand changes. Nokia says the center will develop products for Saudi customers as well as markets abroad, making the kingdom a development base rather than only a sales market. The company is still hiring, and local reports say the center is expected to be operational within one to two months.
