PIF launches Tawrid to unlock cash tied up in supplier invoices

Tuesday, September 22, 2026

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has launched Tawrid, a digital supply-chain finance platform for companies in the Saudi market. Its basic purpose is to shorten the wait between a supplier delivering goods or services and receiving payment: once an invoice has been approved, the supplier can seek early settlement rather than wait for the buyer’s normal payment date. Tawrid will connect buyers, suppliers and funding providers, helping businesses free up cash for payroll, inventory or expansion without treating every short-term need as a conventional loan. The company has a Saudi Central Bank permit to operate in its regulatory sandbox, and PIF says the service is intended to strengthen private-sector firms, particularly smaller businesses whose growth can be constrained by slow-moving cash flow.
