Qatar’s Aligator raises $1.2 million to automate PR’s busywork

Friday, October 2, 2026

Qatar-based Aligator has raised $1.2 million in seed funding led by Qatar Development Bank and Next Ventures, a Media City Qatar fund, with additional private investors. Its AI agents are meant to handle connected pieces of public-relations work: drafting and distributing press materials, tracking coverage, identifying relevant journalists and outlets, and managing follow-ups. That is a bigger ambition than a writing assistant; it is an attempt to automate the operational workflow around media outreach while leaving teams more time for strategy and relationships. Aligator says the funding will accelerate product development, hiring in engineering and AI research, and expansion across the GCC and wider Middle East and North Africa.
