Riyadh will host the 25th WPC Energy Congress from October 11 to 15, bringing together energy ministers, company leaders, investors, and technology specialists. Formerly known as the World Petroleum Congress, the event has long been a major meeting place for the oil and gas industry; this will be its first edition in Saudi Arabia. The agenda reaches well beyond crude oil, covering reliable energy supplies and oil and gas markets alongside AI, investment, carbon management, and critical minerals—the raw materials needed for many electrification technologies. That mix captures the industry’s central challenge: maintaining affordable, dependable energy now while financing the infrastructure and technologies intended to reshape the energy system over time.
